We all go through it in the kitchen. The sink drain is pounded with tons of left over goodies and eventually rebels by releasing that stinky, moldy smell. The microwave sometimes goes into a state of infestation, with so many sauces and liquids covering every nook and cranny. This isn’t something to be ashamed of! Every kitchen has gone through those times. With your busy schedule, it sometimes seems impossible to put these things on the priority list.
Now let’s talk about the refrigerator. This big guy sometimes goes unnoticed with his cool nature. He’s the sly one, hiding the icky spills until the least opportune moment. Take these seemingly obvious tips below and implement them daily to help ensure your spotless fridge.

Clean before you shop.
Wipe out the fridge the evening before you go grocery shopping. Typically, the fridge has less food in it at this time, thus cleaning everything out with a wet rag will take no time at all! This is also a perfect time to check expiration dates and molded food from the fridge.
Clean spills when they happen.
Avoid dealing with those harden spills, they’re absolutely impossible to wipe off. It takes the work of two hands, a good scrubbing tool. Save the sweat, and clean up those spills as soon as they happen.
Wipe off jars and containers before putting them back in the fridge.
More times than not, the fridge gets nasty from stick jars dripping with contents from the lid or picking up droppings on the bottom. Make sure you wipe the containers from bottom to top before you put it back into the fridge, this will keep your shelves so much cleaner.
Eat the leftovers (or toss them).
Foods smell and leak when they go bad in the fridge. Eat your leftovers early and they wont have a chance to blast you in the face the next time you open the fridge doors.
These tips may seem easy and obvious, but sometimes we just need that little extra reminder. Have anymore tips to a cleaner fridge? Let us know.
